Seeing as the weather here is still not chilly enough for the fall outfits, I've still been living in my summer clothes. So today I'm going to talk about something most of us girls love, shoes.
I've noticed shoes have been the leading factor in trends lately from the lace up ballet flats to sneakers for a street style look and loafers. I've said it before and I'll say it again, I love how you can take a look made up of basics and totally change the vibe with a different pair of shoes. I like to think my fashion personality is multifaceted. Somedays I want that "model off duty" cool girl Kendall Jenner look and some days I want to be super girly and wear heels for a week straight.
Fall is one of the perfect seasons to play around with shoes. Us Buffalonians only have a few more months until Ugg season, so we need to live it up.
FOR THE COOL GIRL
The "cool girl" is always on trend. She loves to play around with fashion and finds a way to incorporate what's in to her already established style. She's a fan of the street style look has killer night out heels. She also probably has over the knee heeled boots and dreaming about owning Stuart Weitzman's one day. I get in these moods from time to time and just purchased a pair of loafers!
FOR THE GIRLY GIRL
I don't mean girly as in Elle Woods girly. We all know someone who always looks dressed up and that's just who they are. I wish I had the energy to do that! You'll always see them in a heel with a pretty dress or a midi skirt. They're put together, sophisticated and probably have a amazing heel collection. This is the girl who's shoes make a statement. Whether they're a bright color to go with her outfit, a fun texture or pattern, the girly girl knows what's up.
FOR THE CLASSIC GIRL
The J Crew loving, easy going classic girl is the one that has a little bit of everything in her closet. She rocks the jeans a t-shirt look and still manages to look put together. This is the girl that knows what staples she needs and will make them work with different looks time and time again. Like me, she's building a capsule wardrobe and loves a good statement piece. She'll even have a little fun with a pop of print like leopard or snakeskin every now and then to jazz up her effortless look.
If you're like me and you fit into a two or more of these categories, make a list of what you want to invest in. Personally, I try and invest in my classic shoes like a good comfy nude flat and riding boots so they last for a while. For trends, I run to the Christiano Siriano brand at Payless or Forever21 just because they're super inexpensive and are great buy if you just want to try something out.
