One of my favorite (and easiest) ways to dress up a look is a touch of leather. Whether it's a skirt, moto pants, simple legging or a jacket, adding that texture gives any outfit an effortless edge.
Today I'm giving you a run through of my current favorite spring outfit and how I styled some of my new pieces.
When I'm thinking about outfits, I sometimes will create a dream board - like you've seen in my Spring Transition Outfits post. It helps me visualize pieces I might want to add to my closet or how to style things I already own. Crazy as this sounds, I usually do this in my head, but here's the dream board I had in mind for this look!
The pièce de résistance of my outfit is this perfect chunky sweater from Blush. They also carry this sweater in a rusty pink and a robin's egg blue, but I was in desperate need of a new go-to neutral color. It's definitely thick enough for those mild 50 degree days we've been having, making it awesome for springtime.
And then I found leather trousers at Target on clearance for $9!! They are awesome since they're high waisted and actually fit like a pant with zippers and pockets. Most normal inseams will be an ankle grazer length on me which I actually really enjoy for spring. I knew when I found them, I knew they'd become an absolute staple in my wardrobe.
For shoes, I've been dying for a pair of red espadrilles, so when I saw a Toms version super discounted on 6pm.com, I knew I had to have them! They've quickly become my favorite and I know I'll get a lot of wear out of them. Still hunting for the perfect lace up ones. I might cave and buy the Havianas in my dream board in another color.
So there you have it! This is look is so comfy and easy to wear. I'll definitely be putting it in my outfit rotation. I hope you enjoyed this structure for fashion posts. Gives you a little behind the scenes on my thought process.
