S/S Wishlist

I'm going to pretend it wasn't just snowing here in Buffalo. My mind cannot stop thinking about spring/summer pieces and 70-degree weather.

When thinking about style in the warmer months, much like you saw in my vacation outfits, I tend to lead toward the boho trend most. I really just love how floaty and comfortable little dresses are. But then part of me is just as in love with throwing on a favorite denim shorts and t-shirt. As warmer weather quickly approaches, I came up with a wishlist to not only help me shop but you guys too!

1. DUSTER COATS (TRENCH COATS)

Duster coats are the perfect way to transition outfits into spring. This lighter jacket option adds a touch of sophistication to your most basic looks, making it look like you tried a lot harder than you did. Typical brunch outfit for me in the spring is a duster, white top, black jeans, and some killer daytime heels or booties. Dress them up, or dress them down, dusters are definitely a top favorite for spring/summer.

2. THE LITTLE WHITE DRESS

It's no secret I'm in love with white. It's crisp, it's simple, and it's classic. Three of the things I try and embody through my outfits. That being said, the LWD is just as much a staple for me as the LBD. There are so many different styles, one to suit everyone. And let me tell you, there's nothing better than feeling extra tan while wearing your LWD.

3. DESTROYED DENIM

Much like the way trench coats make everything a little classier, destroyed denim makes everything a little more casual. You get such a cool-girl street style look with destroyed denim, whether it's a pair of shorts or boyfriend jeans. Destroyed denim really adds interest and texture to an outfit. For some reason, I always gravitate towards lighter wash destroyed denim, but I am dying for a pair of black slit knee jeans too.

4. FLOATY PIECES

When I think of summer outfits especially, I just picture being outside on a sunny but still breezy day. I always look for really thin or soft fabrics. I think one of my favorite parts of dressing for hot weather is the effortlessness, and there's nothing more effortless than a floaty piece. It just adds an air of summertime "I just threw this on" attitude. Here are a few of my picks to get that fresh feel.

5. SLIP ONS AND SANDALS

Shoe game in for spring/summer is probably the most fun part of styling. They let you make a statement, complete an outfit, or change up your look. I can't tell you how many time I'll wear my favorite t-shirt dress, but by changing up shoes and accessories, no one notices it's the same dress, and that's exactly why shoes are my favorite. I've really been into the lace up trend, and block heels seem like they're here to stay (woo hoo!).

I cannot wait to start shopping & styling my spring/summer outfits! What's on your wishlist? Share with me on Twitter @luciavlopez
