Raise your hand if you're gearing up for Black Friday!
I know I am.
We all know that with Black Friday comes the stress of getting all your shopping done at once. I personally do all my present shopping from the comfort of my own home on Cyber Monday and usually save any personal shopping for Black Friday. It's a great time to get those pieces you've been eyeing up for ages or just revamp your winter wardrobe. Us Buffalo gals need all the sweaters and coats we can get (WINTER IS HERE). One of my favorite things to do is to hit the Fashion Outlets of Niagara Falls.
If you've never shopped at the outlets for Black Friday, you've gotta take advantage of their Fashionably Late Thanksgiving shopping Event – the first 100 customers will receive a swag bag with a mystery mall gift card, valued anywhere from $10 to $100, along with special retailer offers, a Fashion Outlets savings pass and more! Early bird shoppers can pick up their swag bag at Mall Entrance 6, near Saks OFF 5th.
The Fashion Outlets of Niagara Falls will be open on Thanksgiving Day starting at 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. and will reopen on Black Friday from 7 a.m. - 9 p.m.
Throughout my years, I think I've come down with a pretty foolproof system on how to conquer the crazy atmosphere at the mall. These are tips and tricks on how you too can simplify Black Friday shopping!
TIP #1) Style Yourself
If you have a hard time planning outfits, one of the easiest things you can do is to bring the item of clothing from your closet that you've been having a tough time with. Whenever I go sweater shopping, I bring my leather leggings with me to try them on with. The outlet is a solid 35 minutes form home, so there'd be nothing worse than getting home and realizing my purchase didn't match perfectly! You can do this with anything, whether it be a cute holiday top to try skirts on with or a new pair of jeans you're not sure how to style just yet. Throw it in an old shopping bag and bring it with you – this is a total game changer.
TIP #2) Dress Simply
One of the things I miss most about summer time is being able to go shopping in a dress and slip on sandals. In the winter... not so easy. I try to leave my parka in the car throw on something that wont make trying on clothes a hassle. My go-to lately is a jumpsuit & a smaller jacket that I won't over heat in and mules.
TIP #3) Know What You're Looking For
I like to save Black Friday to look for new staple pieces. In the winter, it's always coats and fun statement outer layers like the vest I styled. Not only will your purchases last a few winters, but you'll also save big on those items you've been eyeing up. I'm still trying to decide if I want the JCrew City Coat in this green color or a neutral - someone help me decide!!
TIP #4) Have a Game Plan
Mall maps exist for a reason! I will go to the farthest end of the mall from where I parked first so that by the time I finish shopping, I'm back to the closest door to my car. So simple right? This is ideal for me, especially being tired after a long day of shopping – yes, running around the mall is exhausting. Last time I was at the outlet, I walked 4 miles!!
I hope these tips help you with your shopping whether it be on Black Friday or any other trip.
Have a happy Thanksgiving!
(I'll probably need a wheel barrel to chauffeur me around the mall after all that stuffing I'm getting ready to eat.)
